#ChangeInEducation: A Letter to Policy Makers
Dear Policy Makers,
We are not robots and we are not robot designers.
We are difference makers who are highly creative, intelligent and resourceful.
Treat us that way.
We work in schools. Not in factories.
We don’t care about those “test results” that are your widgets.
We care about self-confident and kind humans in our world.
It’s time to value this.
We don’t want to create the workforce of the future.
We want to create a love for life, generosity with each other, and peace in ourselves, now and for tomorrow. We want this for each and every student. No matter the color, the creed or the language they speak.
Stop making us inhumane with this “human capital” approach.
It’s time for a change in education.
Yours Truly,
*Teachers
* I presume you, dear fellow teacher, are with me in this endeavor. Please forgive my misunderstanding if you are not.
Developing learners as leaders is my joy! I am committed and passionate International Baccaluearate (IB) educator who loves cracking jokes, jumping on trampolines and reading books. When I’m not playing Minecraft with my daughter, I work on empowering others in order to create a future that works for everyone.
